The Educational Technology Cabinet has a crucial
role in teacher-training in Judaic studies but is also important to training conducted in
other specializations. We aim to develop its range of equipment from grants. A
well-equipped Educational Technology cabinet is not only a service unit of training but a
creative, innovative workshop which is a partner in the departments’ work. It is
operated by a full-time educational technician, as the Cabinet’s main goal is to serve
the specialization in teacher-training in Judaism by ensuring the problem-free operation
of audio-visual equipment.
The activities of the Educational
Technology Cabinet can be divided into two groups:
- directly serving teaching: recording classes
or portions of classes and replaying them, making recordings, lending, repairing
equipment, archiving, making photographic and/or video recordings of the important events
in the life of the Institution (year-opening ceremony, commencement ceremony, exhibitions,
Jewish holidays, academic meetings, competitions, etc.) and copying,
- functions and activities indirectly related
to teaching: creative work (educational situations, portraits of pedagogues, making
recordings of famous Jewish persons), creating tools of demonstration to be used in class
and added to the teaching equipment of the department, etc.
